N-Propyl Alcohol
N-Propyl Alcohol
N-propyl alcohol (n-propanol) is the primary alcohol in which the OH group is bound to a primary carbon atom. It is also referred to as 1-propanol, n-propanol alcohol, propan-1-ol, and propyl alcohol.
N-propyl alcohol is largely employed as a solvent in the production of medicines, cosmetics, coatings, and as a chemical intermediary. It is miscible in water and easily miscible with all major solvents, including glycols, ketones, alcohols, aldehydes, ethers, and aliphatic hydrocarbons.
It’s a common ingredient in flexographic and other printing ink applications, n-propyl alcohol (n-Propanol) is medium-boiling, colourless oxo alcohol with a three-carbon straight chain. It is entirely soluble in water and has a scent that is comparable to ethanol. It is helpful for coating solvents, chemical intermediates, and organic synthesis. n-Propyl alcohol helps in the balancing of drying and flow characteristics in different surface coating applications.
